Beschreibung

OCD, or Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is a common and debilitating condition characterised by frequent unwanted and unpleasant thoughts, images, doubts or urges which produce worry and the compulsive desire to carry out a behaviour aimed at reducing anxiety. Whether OCD affects you a little or a lot, it can really impact on your psychological well-being and ability to enjoy life. Don't allow OCD to rule your life any longer!

By picking up this book you've made the first move towards having a better life. This complete self-help program helps you put theory into practice and reveals its effectiveness through stories from people just like you who have used this approach to turn their lives around. Using the STEP system - a structured, CBT-based approach that delivers both support and proven techniques - you can learn a new way of responding to obsessive thoughts and compulsive urges so they have less power and influence over you, and develop the skills you need to live your life free from OCD. Written by an expert author with many years of clinical experience, this book will help you get a better understanding of your OCD so you can begin to transform your daily life.

Dr Elizabeth Forrester is an independent Consultant Clinical Psychologist with more than 25 years experience. She is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and appears regularly in the press, on radio and on TV, where she specialises in dealing with OCD and related difficulties.
