Beschreibung
Mixing ecological insights with medieval hagiographies, Kimberly Povloski's hell of birds beautifully connects mysticism to the ongoing crisis of a warming, ravaged world.
In her stunning collection hell of birds, Kimberly Povloski asks readers to look at our dying world through a medieval lens.

What can history teach us about the current climate crisis? What can hagiographies say about ecology? These are the questions asked (and answered) in hell of birds.

Experimental but deeply affecting, Povloski's poems showcase a mix of lifted text and stunning language that merge into one of today's most unique works of ecopoetics.

Also, hell of birds is visually inventive with striking spaces and abrupt stops that feel otherworldly and wholly original.

Reader's looking for experimental work that is still tethered to our real, burning world will absolutely adore hell of birds.

This collection also features a bespoke interview with the writer at then end of the book, delving deeper into the craft, influences, and life behind their work.
