After introducing the basics of optical resonators and cavity quantum electrodynamics, this book illustrates several aspects of fiber-based resonators: from their employment in daily life and precision experiments to the different design techniques, including the most recent developments in the field. The book describes in detail the applications to different research areas and highlights the future potential as quantum technology devices.

Deepak Pandey earned his doctoral degree in Quantum Optics at the Raman Research Institute in Bangalore, India. He then moved to L'Institut d'Optique Bordeaux, France¿ to research on the topic of ultra-cold atoms and optical resonators.
Subsequently, he continued to expand his expertise in the field of cavity quantum electrodynamics (cavity-QED) during his postdoctoral tenure at the University of Bonn, Germany. Here, he specialized and contributed in the intricate design of fiber-based resonators and explored their applications in the realm of atomic physics and quantum technology.
His research journey also led him to delve into the applications of fiber-resonators in sensing and quantum information processing.
Presently, he works as a Project Leader at Menlo Systems GmbH in Munich, where he leads research endeavors centered around optical resonator systems and their applications.
