Beschreibung
Inside The Potter's House, walking away from the church is taught as walking away from God. Ten people did it anyway, and Escaping the Potter's House is their account of what it took and what it cost.

The book collects ten firsthand memoirs from former members of the international network founded by Wayman Mitchell in Prescott, Arizona, known across its congregations as The Potter's House, The Door, and Victory Chapel, and formally as Christian Fellowship Ministries. Some of the writers were born into it and knew no other world until adulthood. Others joined as grown adults, looking for meaning or community, and handed over years of their lives before the pattern became visible to them.

The accounts converge on a shared structure while diverging in every particular: the welcome that read as belonging, the steady extension of church authority over money, marriage, friendships, and private conscience, the moment when the official explanation stopped covering the facts, and the exit that severed them from nearly everyone they had loved. None of these writers pretends the leaving was clean or the aftermath simple.

If you have left The Potter's House or a group like it, you will recognize the mechanics. If you are still inside and beginning to notice the distance between what you were promised and what you were handed, these pages map the terrain ahead. And if you have only ever wondered how intelligent, sincere people end up inside a high-control church and how any of them get back out, ten people who lived it have written it down.
