Beschreibung

A gripping account of Nazi Germany's Eastern Front and the tragic fate of Hitler's Axis allies.

Operation Barbarossa, the 1941 invasion of the Soviet Union, became a graveyard for Hitler's Axis allies. Jonathan Trigg reveals the brutal reality faced by Romanian, Italian, Hungarian, Slovak, and Croatian soldiers on the Eastern Front. Ill-equipped and poorly led, they were decimated in battles like Stalingrad and Operation Uranus. Discover the untold stories of these forgotten armies, their struggles against the Red Army, and the political machinations that led to their destruction.

Death on the Don sheds light on a tragic chapter of World War II, perfect for readers seeking a deeper understanding of military history and the human cost of war. Explore the strategic blunders, the desperate conditions, and the ultimate price paid by Germany's allies on the Eastern Front.
