THE ESSENTIAL RESOURCE FOR PARENTS--REVISED AND UPDATED

Does your child have trouble learning to talk, putting sentences together, following directions, or being understood? Is explaining and describing a challenge? In this revised edition of Childhood Speech, Language, and Listening Problems, speech-language pathologist Patricia Hamaguchi--who has been helping children overcome problems like these for nearly thirty years--answers your questions to help you determine what's best for your child. It includes the following:

  • A complete description of all major communication disorders: what to look for, how therapy would be carried out, and what you can do at home to help
  • Help with navigating the evaluation process, understanding report jargon, and acclimating to special education
  • Updated details about new interventions and cutting-edge research in the field
  • Expanded information about autism spectrum disorders, neurobiological disorders, and auditory processing disorders
  • A new chapter on social language skills, play concerns, and quirky behaviors

"Provides valuable information for parents of children with speech, language, and listening problems."
--Sandra C. Holley, Ph.D., Former President, American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
