Über den Autor
Dr. Edward Rybicki is an Emeritus Professor in the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology and Member of the Institute of Infectious Disease and Molecular Medicine of the University of Cape Town, South Africa. His research interests focus around vaccinology, recombinant protein expression in a variety of expression systems, but especially in plants, and virus diversity in general. He has authored three books, co-authored over 180 articles including 20 reviews in peer-reviewed journals, about 20 book chapters, and a number of popular or opinion articles and conference reports. Dr. Rybicki is listed as an inventor on 17 patent families, with around 44 country patents published, mostly in the field of vaccinology. He has written educational and study material for the Web for over 30 years , as well as contributing to the Manual of Online Molecular Biology Techniques on the UCT Open Educational Resources, which has been extensively used by researchers outside of UCT for over 20 years. He maintains a university-level Web-based Virology teaching and information resource called ViroBlogy, as well as a general public information site called [...] Virology News, and skeets on virology topics (and other things) under [...] on Bluesky.
