"I can't do it." That's what one little boy tells himself again and again-whether it's catching a baseball, baking cookies, or reading a book. His "buddy" always seems to remind him of the things he can't do.

But everything changes on the first day of first grade, when he meets a new friend on the playground. She has a different kind of buddy-the kind that says, "I'm just learning," and "Practice helps me get better." With her encouragement, he discovers that maybe "can't" isn't the end of the story... maybe it's just the beginning.

Filled with warmth, encouragement, and the power of friendship, this story helps children see mistakes and challenges in a new way. It's a celebration of trying again, building confidence, and learning that with practice and courage, "I can't," becomes, "But What if I Can?"

Perfect for kids navigating new experiences-whether it's sports, school, or making friends-this uplifting picture book shows young readers that bravery starts with their thoughts.
