"Perceptive... a roadmap for readers navigating multiple cultural worlds." - BookLife Reviews"What makes Brown Beyond Borders such a potent addition to the discourse on race is Luna's biracial, mixed-heritage, immigrant female, and bi-continental lens through which she examines her world."- Elizabeth Leiba, 3x Amazon bestselling author of I'm Not Yelling, Protecting My Peace, and I Came To Slay
Have you ever felt your identity was not yours to name?
This is all too common among women of color living in mainstream White continents-and even more so among US-educated Brown immigrant women.
This groundbreaking blend of biracial memoir and self-help invites Black and Brown women on a deeply personal yet universally resonant journey. It confronts outdated categories of race and celebrates embodied intersectionality, providing an unprecedented exploration of one woman's biracial and cross-cultural experiences within the United States and Europe.
Through her personal anecdotes as a biracial woman from an immigrant family, C.T. Luna navigates the complexities of race, culture, and belonging on both sides of the Atlantic. From childhood prejudices, growing up in the Virginia suburbs of Washington, D.C., to embracing diverse realities in Hawaii and Switzerland, her story illuminates the universal search for self-definition beyond rigid, outdated categories.
Brown Beyond Borders is your invitation to embrace self-empowerment. Reject polarizing social constructs and transcend two-dimensional perspectives to emerge into your Golden multidimensionality. It offers practical insights to cultivate unshakable confidence, navigate professional and personal dynamics across cultural boundaries, and unlock your fullest potential.
This book is a timely and compelling contribution to ongoing global conversations around Black identity and mixed heritage, guiding readers to create a life of purpose and fulfillment by embracing their multifaceted identity and stepping into their journey of self-discovery and spiritual growth.
"... a fascinating blueprint for biracial immigrant women..." - A. Jost
