Alan Sepinwall is a television critic and author known for shaping the way modern TV is written about and understood. He has covered the evolution of contemporary television from its early "prestige" era through today, writing for The Star-Ledger, HitFix, and Uproxx before becoming the chief TV critic for Rolling Stone.

He is the author of several books on television, including The Revolution Was Televised, TV (The Book) (co-authored with Matt Zoller Seitz), The Sopranos Sessions, and Breaking Bad 101, as well as other critical and narrative studies of influential series.
