Beschreibung

After seven months, Mady's best friend is finally back at school but nothing is how it used to be. Burdened with fear, shame and pain the fifteen-year-old doesn't know what to do and who to turn to. If she told her best friend would she believe her? Would she help her? Could Mady even find the strength to say it out loud? For months she has tried to understand what happened to her, how she could have dealt with it differently and how to go back to normal. But there is no normal anymore. Her world was set aflame and it continues to burn.
And so after summer break Mady finds herself unable to enter the school building, the place where the monster waits for her. Not that she's naive enough to think she's safe anywhere else. Wherever she goes insatiable eyes follow her path, dark growls sound in her ears, hot breath sears her skin, turning her dreams to ashes. Can the beast be stopped before Mady is consumed by its flames?

Über den Autor

Born in Germany in 2001, Leila Elowyn wrote her first short story at the age of eight and has been writing about grief, death and growth ever since. Biweekly she discusses her craft in her online authors-group. The first novel of her queer debut book series "Scarlet Moon" is currently in the beta-reading phase. It explores a world of crime and injustice and the quest of those who are seen as weak to take back their power. Leila passionately sheds a light on the cruelty and horrors of society but also allows the reader to see hope in the ways her (anti-)heroines deal with it.
Aside from creating fictional worlds she expresses herself through sewing, jewelry making, painting, resin pouring, poetry writing - and cuddling the kittens at her local animal shelter.
