Biodynamics of Osteopathy: Phase Two is the second in a series of twelve hardback editions. As each volume builds upon the understanding established in the previous ones, it is recommended that the series be read in sequential order. Please note that a prior fundamental knowledge of osteopathy is assumed.

Phase Two is about communication with the natural laws of healing that surround activity at 2 to 3 cycles per minute. We synchronize with the breathing of Primary Respiration and also add the skill of sensing the fulcrum, the Stillness through which the breathing creates form and function. It is a different kind of synchronization from that in Phase One, shifting our awareness more deeply. As this occurs, the treatment automatically expresses itself. The end point of treatment, when compared with Phase One, reveals several differences. We find this kind of synchronization works exclusively with the fluid body and the outcome of treatment is more complete than when working with tissue alone.

About the Author James Jealous, D.O. (1943-2021), was a renowned osteopathic physician, teacher, and author. His life's work was the founding and development of Biodynamics of Osteopathy, a unique methodology that follows the lineage of Dr. A.T. Still and Dr. W.G. Sutherland. Dr. Jealous was a 1970 graduate of the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (now A.T. Still University). He was inspired by the parallels he saw between the embryological research of Dr. Erich Blechschmidt and the osteopathic insights of Dr. William Sutherland to create his own distinct body of work.

James Jealous, D.O. (1943-2021), was an osteopathic physician, teacher, and writer. This inspiration led him to create his own body of work. In the early 1990s, he began teaching "A Biodynamic View of Osteopathy in the Cranial Field," which, as he developed his specific methodology, was refined to "Biodynamics of Osteopathy."A deeply spiritual person, he felt most at home in the natural world and was an avid fisherman and hiker.
