In the early 1950s, the young Michel Foucault took a keen interest in the method of existential analysis--Daseinsanalyse--developed by the Swiss psychiatrist Ludwig Binswanger. Marie Satya McDonough is a master lecturer in the College of Arts and Sciences Writing Program and the Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program at Boston University. Bernard E.
