The monograph raises the question of the birth of medievism, a branch of historical science that studies the Middle Ages, in the Belarusian lands, which were part of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The texts in the Old Belarusian language are examined: an extract from the "Chronicle" by Martin Bielski, translations of "The Vision of Tnugdal", "Roman Deeds", the novel "Tristan and Isolde", the recorded in Polish "Chronicle of Pantsyrny and Averka", teaching of general history (including history of Middle Ages) in Jesuit colleges and schools of the edu-cation commission.

Nascido em 1962, em Chelyabinsk. Graduado pela Universidade Estadual Bielorrussa em 1988. Candidato a Licenciado em Ciências Históricas (1991), Doutor em Ciências Históricas (2001), Professor. Palestrante da História da Idade Média na Universidade Estadual Bielorrussa. Autor de mais de 100 publicações científicas, científicas populares e educacionais.
