Bass Book One is an excellent companion to Knowing the Notes for Bass and The First Summer Study Book for Bass. Teachers can use this book as a method or as a supplemental study book for their beginning students who know a few notes but need more work on note-reading. While the main part of the book is all in first position, there are selections from the book in a supplemental section in the back that are repeated at an intermediate level, with shifting, to accomodate more advanced students in a class. This book can be used together with Viola Book One and Cello Book One in a low-strings class.
