After education at Christ Church, Oxford (BA 1967, MA 1970, [...]. 1971), Leofranc Holford-Strevens worked as a learned reader at Oxford University Press from 1971 to 1984, and thereafter as a copy-editor until his retirement in 2011 (from 2005 with the title Consultant Scholar-Editor).
