Xenophon (c. 430-354 BCE) was a Greek historian, soldier, and philosopher who lived during the final decades of classical Athens. A student of Socrates and a participant in military campaigns across the ancient world, Xenophon wrote extensively on history, philosophy, leadership, and warfare. His works-including the Anabasis, Hellenica, and Memorabilia-remain among the most important sources for understanding Greek history and thought in the fourth century BCE.
