Über den Autor

Nerina Bosman lectured in Afrikaans linguistics and applied linguistics at the University of Pretoria before her retirement. She is currently a research fellow at this institution. Her area of expertise is Afrikaans lexical semantics where she works mainly in the field of cognitive semantics with a focus on conceptual metaphor. She recently expanded her research to include motion verbs. Her research is usage-based with data found in the available Afrikaans corpora. Another longstanding research interest is address forms in Afrikaans. She is a rated researcher with the National Research Foundation and serves on the editorial boards of the journals Language Matters and Internationale Neerlandistiek. She is co-editor of the third edition of Contemporary Afrikaans Linguistics (2024) together with Prof. Wannie Carstens and Prof. Adri Breed.
