Adventures in God brings you into the faith, ministry, and spiritual experiences of John G. Lake-an American minister who became known as the "Apostle to Africa" and one of the most influential figures of the early Pentecostal and divine-healing movements.
Lake went to South Africa in 1908, where he devoted himself to missionary work and became a leading figure in the Pentecostal revival there. His ministry was marked by a profound conviction in the power of God, the baptism in the Holy Spirit, divine healing, and a life of radical faith.
After five years in Africa, Lake returned to America and eventually settled in Spokane, Washington. There he established the famous Divine Healing Rooms, where thousands came seeking prayer and healing. The ministry he pioneered later inspired the worldwide Healing Rooms movement that continues today.
In Adventures in God, Lake recounts the experiences, convictions, and encounters with God that shaped his ministry. His writing is personal, direct, and uncompromising, giving readers a vivid glimpse into the faith and spiritual life of one of Pentecostalism's most remarkable pioneers.
This Modern English Edition brings Lake's message to contemporary readers while preserving the passion and distinctive character of his original work.
