Beschreibung
This cookbook contains the recipes of the savory foods in a poem composed by His Majesty King Rama II. This poem describes some royal savory foods and desserts as a nirat (a Thai literary work that describes about voyage and a lover), i.e. His Majesty bemoaned Her Majesty, His Majesty's wife, by bringing the names, characteristics, ingredients, or relations of the foods, to link to the bemoaning.
____Her Majesty was born at the District of Bangxang (Bang means a district on a waterway. Xang means an elephant. Kok in the word "Bangkok" means elaeocarpus hygrophilus, the fruits of which are olive-like.), the City of Ratchaburi. Currently, the District is the Province of Samut Songkhram. The current Subdistrict of Bangxang, the current District of Amphawa, the current Province of Samut Songkhram, was the center of the District of Bangxang. Her Majesty lived with a younger sister of Her Majesty Queen Amarindra, who was His Majesty King Rama I's wife and was in the group of the lineages of Bangxang. The group has descended from some Kings of the Kingdom of Ayutthaya and all kings of the Kingdom of Sukhothai. The group of the lineages of Bangxang can be called the Group of the Queen's Lineages of Bangxang, because the group are the Chakri dynasty's queen's relatives. Her Majesty Queen Sri Suriyendra inherited cooking from the Group.
____The Ban Mo Palace (Ban Mo means a house of pots.) belonged to Prince Kunchon (kunchon means an elephant) whose mother was Chaochom Manda (a King's concubine who has a child) Sila, Her Majesty Queen Sri Suriyendra's cousin. Therefore, some of those who lived at the Palace inherited cooking from Her Majesty Queen Sri Suriyendra.
