Beschreibung
Here at long last in English, almost five decades after the publication of the original, is the classic of European modernism that established Serbian writer Milos Crnjanski as one of the great voices of the 20th century. The novel follows an aging Russian émigré, Nikolai Repnin, as he attempts to make a life in the British capital in the 1940s.

Über den Autor
Milos Crnjanski (1893-1977) is considered one of the foremost Yugoslav literary figures of the twentieth century. A leader among the Serbian avant-garde after WWI, he was declared persona non grata by the Communist Party, which took control of the country after the Second World War. He lived in exile, mostly in London, for almost twenty-five years, living an obscure life in London before returning home in 1965. His experience from that period produced his final great novel, A Novel of London.
