Full colour facsimile reprint of the original First World War, War Office war diary of the Headquarters, 114 Infantry Brigade, 38th Division, covering April 1917 to June 1919 across 1,050 pages. It names 53 places across 65 dated entries.

Alongside the daily entries the volume carries twenty-three casualty and personnel returns, 237 reports, narratives and plans, 56 Operation Orders, nine appendices, twelve maps and twenty-four diagrams. Among the papers are: Casualties; Report on raid on trenches Occupied by the 10th Welsh Regiment Between C.14.c.5.9; Report on raid carried out by 15th Welsh Regiment; Narrative of operations 114th Inf Bde. from 8th October 1918; Narrative of operations 13th (S) Battn the Welch Regiment; Summary of operation and Intelligence 114th Infantry Brigade; Summary of operation & Intelligence 114th Infantry Brigade; 114th Infantry Brigade Intelligence Summary; Intelligence Office 114th Infantry Brigade; Patrols; Intelligence Summaries; Intelligence Summary 114th Infantry Brigade.

The diary opens at Bollezeele on 1 April 1917. 1917 is spent at Fleurbaix H.20. D6.6, Estree-Blanche, Estaires, Mares Near Fleurbaix and Lancashire Farm. 1918 at Pot De Vin, Toutencourt, Inte Factory Armentiries, Tute Factory and Norrent Fontes. 1919 at Blangy Tronville, Inchy St Gratien and Querrieu. It closes at Blangy Tronville on 4 June 1919. Blangy Tronville is where it spent longest, 59 days, including a single unbroken stay of 59 and it came back to Toutencourt five separate times.

Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Lancashire Farm, Lancaster Farm, Stray Farm, Burgomaster Farm and Cardoen Farm.
