Alongside the daily entries the volume carries 122 reports, narratives and plans, 61 Operation Orders, four defence schemes, eleven appendices, seventeen maps and twenty-three diagrams. The diary opens at Little Kemmel on 29 September 1918. 1918 is spent at Lessines, Hollebeke, Moorseele, Profondeville and Beveren. 1919 at Siegburg and Profondeville. It closes at Siegburg on 30 June 1919. Siegburg is where it spent longest, 66 days across three separate stays, including a single unbroken stay of 62 and it came back to Lessines four separate times.

In 1918 it is also recorded at Abeele, Artoishoek, Kruishoek Lauwe, Belleghem, Lauwe, Wattripont, Soignies, Courcelles and Chatelet.
