Full colour facsimile reprint of the original First World War, War Office war diary of the 3 INDIAN (LAHORE) DIVISION Headquarters, Branches and Services Adjutant and Quarter-Master General, covering August 1914 to December 1915 across 600 pages. It names 30 places across 92 dated entries.

Alongside the daily entries the volume carries eleven casualty and personnel returns, two reports, narratives and plans, one Operation Order, seven appendices and one map. Among the papers are: Appendix to War Diary December 1914 list of casualties; Casualties Lahore Division January 1915; Casualties February 1915; Provisional instructions Regarding Train Rations; Special order to the 1st Army.

The diary opens at Dalhousie on 8 August 1914. 1914 is spent at Estaires, Orleans, Locon, Bethune and Cairo. 1915 at Estaires, Lestrem, La Gorgue, Lozinghem and Vieille Chapelle. It closes at Marseilles on 16 December 1915. Estaires is where it spent longest, 244 days across thirteen separate stays and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 31 days at Lozinghem.

In 1914 it is also recorded at Lahore Cant, Karachi, H.Y. City of Glasgow at Sea, Suez, Alexandria, En Route to Place of Consentration, Hallines, Lynde, Bailleul and Lozinghem. In 1915 it is also recorded at Robecq, Busnes, Locon, Calonne, Goed Waersvelde, Poperinghe, Estaires Lestrem, Isbergues, Roquetoire and Bomy.
