Über den Autor
Dr Paul Parsons is a quantitative analyst with the British bookmaker BetVictor, where he applies statistical models, sophisticated software tools and eight years of university maths and science education to figure out who is going to win the 3 o'clock at Ascot. In a previous life he was editor of the award-winning BBC science and technology magazine Focus and managing editor of BBC Sky At Night magazine. He has been a science writer and journalist for over twenty years, contributing to New Scientist, the Guardian, Daily Telegraph, Men's Health, National Geographic and many others, and is the author of several books including The Science of Doctor Who, Science 1001, How to Destroy the Universe: And 34 Other Really Interesting Uses of Physics, Science: In 100 Key Breakthroughs, The Rough Guide to Surviving the End of the World, The Periodic Table, 3-Minute Stephen Hawking and 50 Science Ideas You Really Need to Know. He is also a fellow of the Royal Statistical Society and a consultant to Guinness World Record.
